Yesterday VERIZON published their annual report on data breaches. They analyzed more than 40K security incidents and about 2000 confirmed breaches in 86 countries. The main point they highlight is the fact, that the senior executive leaders are increasingly and specifically targeted with social engineering attacks for financial gain. Using stolen credentials the attackers compromised web-based applications.
This only highlights even more the need for specific, c-suite level, privacy and security training.
